Portsmouth is to receive a £21m boost under the Conservative Government’s Levelling-Up agenda.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak revealed the cash injection in his Budget at the end of October.
£3.5m will be spent on upgrading the Hilsea Lido, which Conservative MP Penny Mordaunt famously campaigned for on the TV show Splash!
Portsmouth Port is getting £11.25m for a new cruise terminal, which will bring 250,000 extra cruise passsengers to the city each year – with each ship bringing an estimated £1.5m into the local economy.
The expansion of the port means more facilities and more jobs: a transformational boost for the city’s economy.
A further £8.75m will be used to create the longest urban parpk in the country at the northern end of Portsea Island, creating much-needed green space for residents to walk and cycle.

Last but not least, Moneyfields FC are getting £986,000 towards their new stadium – due to open in September 2022.
The state-of-the-art facility will boast two full-size artificial pitchesm a 5-a-side pitch suitab;e for disabled players, plus classrooms, a gym, and a boxing centre.
The Chancellor said the Conservative levelling-up measures would “lay the foundations for a stronger economy.”
